This packing list is for friends and family staying with us in Glamis. This means you have a place to stay, so don't worry about shelter. Chances are we have bedding and pillows for you too, but check with us first.
Clothes
What clothes you bring depends on the weather. So this is broken down into year-round
necessities then seasonal items.
- Year Round
- Your normal underoos. If you *really* hate sand, bring extra to change more frequently.
- Socks. I like changing my socks to keep things fresh. Long, thick socks if you are going to ride bikes.
- Shoes, closed toes. They will get sandy.
- Hat, probably of the baseball cap variety.
- Shirts, duh. Mix of long and short sleeve works well.
- Winter (cold weather)
- Light jacket / sweater. Nice during the day.
- Heavy jacket; it gets really cold at night. Bring one that you don't mind stinking like campfire, since it will when you are done.
- Beanie or skull-cap. Keeps your head and ears warm!
- Thermal underwear / long johns. Great to wear under your clothes at night.
- Jeans. You'll probably live in these.
- Warm boots, like Uggs if you have 'em.
- Pajamas. We might run the heater, but it can't hurt to wear warm clothes to bed.
- Fall / Spring (warm weather)
- Shorts.
- Flip flops / sandals.
- T-Shirts or tank tops.
- Bathing suit / boardshorts. You may get wet.
- Extra "beach" towel.
Accessories (year round)
- Sunglasses.
- Towel (you will want a shower). We usually bring some, so check first.
- Sunblock.
- Chapstick.
- Normal toiletries.
Food / Drink
Make sure you coordinate with us on food. We may have meals covered.
- Water. In bottles, not *too* big. Plan on a many bottles per day per person.
- Your other beverage of choice, like Gatorade, Lemonade, whatever. Quantity is your call.
- Beer if you like it, nice during the day.
- Your drink of choice for the evening when you may be done with beer.
